Volkswagen 1.8t engine swap from AWV to AWP?

I have a beetle glx with a 1.8t 20v. My timing belt snapped and engine is junk. I can get another 1.8t out of an 03 gti but it is a AWP. If I buy this engine would it work. I know I'd probably have to switch the ecu or have it chipped. I just want to know if the wiring harness and tranny will match up and if it'll work. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks
